For those that are new to our scout group.

1.We Need your details! We use a program called Online Scout Manager, simply provide a leader with your name, DOB and a guardians email address and we will set you up a profile. It is the ongoing responsibility of the guardians to ensure that all info about your scout is up to date. If you have never heard of OSM then please come and chat to a leader.

2. Subs and Direct Debits Scouts is run by volunteers but we do need to maintain our equipment and keep up to date with training. Subs are currently 12 pounds per month. The link below will provide you with all you need to know about setting up a direct debit and info on gift aid. Gift Aid Form, inc bank details

3. Your joining ceremony! When you have been coming to us for some time you will have a ceremony to welcome you officially into the Bournemouth 30th Group. You will be told when this happens in advance so parents and carers can come to take some pictures of this amazing celebration. Want to know a date? Speak to Leader Lee, he is our investment guru.

4. Uniform. To be a scout, you need a uniform. For more information click the link below. UNIFORM ORDER FORM You can take this to the Butchers Coppice Shop to purchase. When we are in the hall we expect scouts to wear full uniform, hat, jumper, dark T-shirt, neckerchief, dark trousers, dark shoes. When we are out we recommend activity wear. This must always include a neckerchief and appropriate clothing for the weather/activity.

We sometimes have second hand gear, come and speak to a leader if you have any questions.

5. KIT At time we talk about an activity kit bag, this is an essential pack dedicated to adventure and being prepared for all potential opportunities. You will need

  1. Head torch
  2. 50p tuck
  3. Spare clothing
  4. Warm hat and gloves
  5. Bin liner
  6. Tissues/hanky
  7. Plaster
  8. Water bottle / drink

DIVING NIGHT

It is confirmed! Our scuba/snorkelling session with Dorset Diving Services is booked for Friday 8th March at The Dolphin Centre in Poole. Sessions are £45 per participant and include scuba diving and snorkelling session. Once booked the session is non-refundable, unless there are any medical issues (you’ll need to provide proof of this). What makes this even better is that if you come, scouts will subsidise part of the cost.

Please follow the link below to make your booking(s). Please ensure that you complete the details for the participant information, not parent information. This also applies to the details that need to be added on the PADI app when setting up a profile for the eLearning that needs to be completed beforehand – please make sure you follow the informaiton on your confirmation email when you book.

All eLearning and online paperwork needs to be completed by Wednesday 6th March – if this isn’t completed the participant will not be allowed in the water. It is highly recommended/encouraged to complete all of this beforehand to save time later on and to stop any last minute panic. Please bear in mind if you answer yes to any of the medical questions you will need to contact your GP to ensure you are fit to dive, this can take a couple of weeks so please don’t leave it until last minute. Any questions please ask a leader.

If you have any issues or questions please contact Dorset Diving Services on 01202 122006.

We have done this a few years running and places run out fast ! So get on it ASAP!

Cheers all
