Each of the groups will have its own racing course, sailing instructions and scoring.  Basic racing rules will apply.  Each member of each pair will have to helm the course.  Course plans are as follows:

1. Stage 1 – Le Mans start from beach, reach to mark, round mark, return to beach
2. Stage 2 – on water start from start line, reach to mark, round mark, return through start line
3. Stage 3 – on water start from start line, triangular course, round all marks, finish through start line, one lap
4. Stage 4 – on water start from start line, triangular course, round all marks, finish through start line, two laps

Subject to the overall place limits above, Groups/Units can enter teams of different sizes, from one pair of competitors in one sailing group to three pairs of competitors in each group.  Groups/Units may also combine to enter pairs or enter single competitors who will be paired up on the day.  All competitors will score points, and the scores will be averaged by the number of competitors from each troop so team size will not affect theoverall troop results.  There will be shore-based competitions for competitors which will also be scored.  There will be troop and individual prizes.

The event will start at 0900 with briefing and finish at 1630 with Prize Giving.  Racing will go on throughout the day with every competitor having 2 water sessions.  Competitors should bring their own sailing kit if they have it; kit will be available for those who do not.  Competitors should also bring drink and a packed lunch.

Entry charge is £15 for each competitor except those in group 5. There will be a barbeque at the end of the event after the prize presentations.
