Getting involved / Info

We’re in need of more volunteers – could you help?

30th Sea Scouts is looking for more people to get involved with our leadership crew, and we’d really appreciate your support. Whether you can spare a couple of hours every now and then or are interested in becoming a regular leader, every bit of help makes a difference.

Whether you’re a parent, someone looking to gain leadership experience, or simply someone who enjoys the outdoors and wants to try something different, volunteering with Scouts is a fantastic opportunity to learn new skills, meet great people and make a real difference in young people’s lives.

As a Sea Scout group, our activities go beyond the usual weekly meetings. From kayaking and canoeing to outdoor adventures and water-based activities, there’s plenty to get involved in. You’ll have the opportunity to develop your own skills and gain experience on the water alongside our young people.

You don’t need to be an experienced Scout or an outdoor expert to get started. Enthusiasm, a willingness to get involved and a bit of time are what matter most. We’ll help you learn the rest!

Can’t commit to becoming a regular leader?

Even an occasional helping hand can make a huge difference! Every now and then, leaders are unable to attend sessions due to illness or work commitments, and having a few extra people we can call on would be a massive help.

If you have a couple of hours to spare once or twice a term and would be happy to step in when needed, we’d love to hear from you. There’s no long-term commitment involved, just a helping hand when you can.

Interested in getting involved?

Whether you’d like to become a regular leader or simply be available to help out occasionally, come and have a chat with one of our leaders at a session, or get in touch to find out more.

There’s no pressure to commit straight away, and we’d be delighted to welcome some new faces to the team.
