St. George’s Day Parade 24th April 2022
This is a very important event where Scouts, Cubs andBeavers are always expected to attend.
We would like all Scouts, cubs and beavers to arrive a 10am at the assembly point the grass park above Durley Chine near St Michael’s Road and Westhill Road.
They must arrive no later than 10.15am, as we will be movingoff by 10.30am.
(Parents/Carers will be better off using the car parks in the town centre and walking up the path by the BIC)
The Parade route will be moving off at 10.30 am towards the end of park to St Michael’s Road. The Parade will go a short way along St Michael’s Road to the path leading to the BIC (this goes past Beacon Road). The Parade will come out onto Pier Approach with Hot Rocks on the left, the parade will then go under the flyover. We will then parade into the gardens and form up outside the bandstand, where the Promise renewal ceremony will take place. If your child would like to bring along some money there will be a collection in aid of a local charity.
The Promise renewal will take place at about 11am when everyone is settled and in place. We envisage it lasting between ½ hour and ¾ of an hour it should all be finished by
12 o’clock.
In the event of wet weather you will be notified if it is cancelled. If the weather is hot could you make sure that your young person has sun cream on and has a hat in their pocket!
Cubs and Beavers should wear full uniform (school trousers, school shoes, uniform top, hat and a neat tidyscarf).

Finlay L won’t be there today as he’s at a swimming gala in Yeovil.
