Sailing camp Friday 24th May to Sunday 26th May 2019

Hengistbury Head Outdoor Centre, The Broadway, Southbourne, Bournemouth BH6 4EN Tel: 01202 425173 (will not always be manned)
Travel
Scouts to provide own transport to and from the site. Do not need to take or wear uniform to camp, but must wear their Scarf on arrival and departure
Activities
Arrive at 5pm, pitch tents, activities will start asap afterwards. Collection times to be confirmed, tide dependant (approx 5pm)
PLEASE NOTE; that this year we MAY be sleeping in the main building, girls in one room & boys in the other.

Scouts Kit List
Plenty of changes of old warm clothes – sweaters, jumpers, sweatshirts; sailing is a wet sport! Tshirts/shirts similar. Trousers/shorts. Underclothes. Nightwear. Socks. Warm Kagool / waterproof jacket. Shoes, trainers. 3 season minimum sleeping bag, roll mat, pillow. Wash kit, min 2 towels. Torch & spare batteries, wash kit
Tent (if not previously requested to a 30th scout leader) Plate/Mug/Bowl/Cutlery, Tea Towels. Anti mosquito spray & sun cream. Any medications
Please can each scout supply a cake……. Homemade would be extra yummy!
RYA logbooks
Please bring RYA logbooks/certificates if you have them, and make sure you have put your name in it. Logbooks can be purchased at camp by those who do not have one; a pen for writing in your name would be useful. RYA certificates will be issued at the end of the course to those who have achieved the required standard.
Water activity kit
Swim suit, Rash Vest, Wetsuit or Drysuit, Wetboots (or old trainers), Baseball cap, Water bottle with name and 1m length of string on it (to tie it onto the boat). Water/wind proof jacket. Buoyancy aid. Hengistbury buoyancy aids, windproofs and wetsuits are available if required.
Scouts “not to bring list”
Mobile phones, ipods / MP3 players, Ghetto Blasters / HiFis, DVD players, anything of any value or which would cause regret if lost or damaged. If brought, please ensure your mobile phone is left out of sight! Leaders and the Scout Association will not accept any responsibility for these. Please don’t bring any money, there is nothing to spend it on, drinks and snacks will be provided
