Please read these instructions carefully and let me know if you have any queries.

Our arrival time is 15:00hrs

Arrival and Registration

Please try to arrive at the time indicated above. Parent drop off is at the top car park near the gate and scouts will need to walk down the short track to HQ. Leaders and scout minibuses will be allowed through to the main car park.

Patrol leaders and scout leaders should register at HQ before pitching tents. Patrol leaders should report to HQ with a complete list of team member names, date of births and contact numbers (see separate form). (Carlos will have this)

Theme

This year’s night activity will have the theme of ‘I’m a Celebrity Scout Get Me Out of Here!’ Teams will navigate a course through the forest via bases where they will have the opportunity to win points to go towards their final total.

Routes

There are quite a few groups who are entering young/inexperienced teams and therefore we will have 2 routes available to the scouts.

The scout route will be marked in places, the scouts will still need to navigate using a map but hopefully the strategic positioning of glow sticks will aid them on their way.

Maps – Scouts will be provided with a laminated A4 map to mark their route on and walk with. Do not lose this as without it…..you are lost!

Food and Drink

Scouts will be provided with a meal on Saturday afternoon, a snack on return to site after the hike and breakfast on Sunday morning. Specific dietary requirements listed on the registration form (not fussy eaters) will be catered for.

Hot drinks and squash will be available throughout the activity; however, you must provide your own mugs and drinks bottles. Flasks and drinks bottles should be filled prior to leaving site for the hike.

Equipment

Each member will require at least:

– appropriate clothing for a hike, taking into consideration the weather forecast, including waterproofs – lots of layers. Hats.

– appropriate footwear (it is boggy!)

– a reusable drinks container and drink (to be carried on the hike) – snacks for the hike

– at least 1 full change of clothing (left on site)

– at least one whistle –

– a suitable first aid kit – we have this

– a survival bag – we have this too

Presentations

The presentation ceremony will take place at 9am on the Sunday.

Departure

As with the arrival parents will need to collect scouts from the top car park. Final presentation ceremony will be finished by 09:30 so leaders should be realistic about how long it will take them to strike camp and advise their parents of a meeting time accordingly. Parents to be ready to roll at 9:30 pick up.

If you have any questions, please leave a message on here and please keep checking in for updates.

Cheers

The 30th crew

Sounds amazing! Elle’s sad to miss it, but she’s at a school swimming gala Saturday and it’s a late finish. We hope you all have a great time!
