BOURNEMOUTH DISTRICT NIGHT ACTIVITY SATURDAY 10TH TO SUNDAY 11TH MARCH 2018

This year’s Night Activity will be held at Braggers Wood Scout Campsite, New Forest.

The activities will start on the Saturday afternoon. There will be On-site challenges, a navigation workshop and a night hike

along the theme of ‘I’m a Celebrity Scout Get Me Out of Here.

The final parade and presentation of certificates will take place at 9am on Sunday morning.

The cost of entry is £10 per head. This includes camping fees, an evening meal and supper on Saturday, breakfast on Sunday and the costs involved in running the event.

There will be a Scout route of 5 miles and an Explorer route of 8 miles.

Teams may consist of 4-6 Scouts/Explorers. Scout teams may consist of Scouts aged up to 141⁄2 years on the day of the event. Scout teams combined ages must not exceed:

79 years for a team of six

67 years for a team of five

54 years for a team of four

If any member of a team is over 141⁄2 years on the day of the event or if the teams combined age exceeds the maximum stated they will have to complete the Explorer route. Alternatively they may be able to complete the Scout route with a 50 point handicap. The organiser’s decision is final.

In order to run this event we need your support! We need adults to run bases, numerous campsite challenges, and run the navigation workshop on Saturday afternoon. We will also need minibuses and drivers.

Please encourage all your Leaders, Assistants and helpers to come along – they don’t need to be there the whole time – every little helps! – don’t forget your Beaver Leaders, Cub Leaders and helpers!!! Even if you don’t enter a team, feel free to come along and give us a hand!
