St George’s Day

St. George’s Day Parade 27th April 2025

This is a very important event where Scouts, Cubs, Beaversand Squirrels are always expected to attend unless they provide a very good reason for non-attendance.

We would like all Scouts, Cubs, Beavers and Squirrels to arrive a 9.30am at the assembly point the grass park above Durley Chine near St Michael’s Road and Westhill Road. They must arrive no later than 9.45am, as we will be movingoff by 10am.

(Parents/Carers will be better off using the car parks in the town centre and walking up the path by the BIC)

The Parade will be moving off at 10am sharp starting from grass park area above Durley Chine, the parade will move down the cliff top path behind the BIC. The parade will come onto the pier approach with Hot Rocks on the left and proceed through the gardens, across the square and down to the Cenotaph where the promise renewal will take place. If your child would like to bring along some money there will be a collection in aid of a local charity.

The Promise renewal will take place at about 10.40am,when everyone is settled and in place. We envisage it lasting between ½ hour and ¾ of an hour it should all be finished by

11.45am.

In the event of wet weather, you will be notified if it is cancelled. If the weather is hot, could you make sure that your young person has sun cream on and has a hat in their pocket!

Scouts, Cubs, Beavers and Squirrels should wear full uniform (school trousers, school shoes, uniform top and a neat tidy scarf).
