NOTE TO THE PARENTS/GUARDIANS OF ALL BEAVERS/CUBS/SCOUTS

 

Thanks to everyone who has Gift Aided their subscriptions to our Scout Group. We have just obtained a very useful tax refund of £1,616.79 which will help to swell Scout funds. This is an increase on last year.

 

The Inland Revenue has your address so please read this note carefully and contact me urgently if your tax situation changes or you move house. 

 

PLEASE NOTE. If you have not yet signed a Gift Aid Declaration (“GAD”) you too can greatly help the Group in a pain–free way by signing one and paying your subscriptions by standing order. We need to have payment in this way because the HMRC must have proof of payment.Please remember that the payment must come from the account of the person who signs the GAD (this includes a joint account).

 

To sign a GAD you must be paying at least enough income tax to cover the tax that is recovered by the 30th. This requirement needs to be considered annually.

 

If sadly you stop paying tax because of redundancy or any other reason, please let me know as I cannot claim the tax back. However, if you stop paying tax, it may be that the other parent or guardian is paying tax and can pay the subscriptions and sign a GAD instead.
